Recently, the tension between US and Iran have been under the international spotlight. Iran is an importanct oil exporting country. If US stage a war on Iran, what will happen to EU, Russia and China?

Recently, I have heard of a saying: an attack on Iran is an economic attack on China. Some people believe that Iran is a major daily exporter of energy to China. If Iran's economy or infrastructure is attacked, it will be an attempt to strike against China's economy.

Here are some statistics from atimes.com

1) "Iran supplies about 14% of China's oil."
2) "China's state Sinopec agreed to buy 250 million tons of LNG(Liquefied natural gas) over 30 years from Iran, as well as to develop the giant Yadavaran field."
3) "Iran's Petroleum Minister announced that Tehran would like to see China replace Japan as Iran's largest oil importer. "

Will this be the case? What is your view on this issue?

Unless the US attacks Iranian oil fields, an attack on Iran would be just that - no more - no less. It is not an economic attack on China. Whoever said that "...an attack on Iran is an economic attack on China..." must have had a hidden agenda to spout such nonsense. Doing business with an unstable government is always risky business, so China's dealings with Iran are high risk adventures.

When sabres are rattled there is always hope that influencial friends of the intended target will interceed.

Griz326, if US attack Iran, the oil supply to China will be cut. For your statement "doing business with an unstable government is always risky business, so China's dealings with Iran are high risk adventures", I feel you have a strong biase against Iran. It is true that Iran has some problems. In economic field, Iran has a normal relation with trading partners. I know there is a longstanding rift between Iran and USA.

If Iran have a trouble relation with the USA, the only world military super power,
will that not constituted a risky BUSINESS for any one that that enter in to
business with the say country?.

ANY way, do not worry that is not an imminent matter.

China’s oil supply is ok, and so is Iran.

Don’t give me wrong, if the only world super power is a LALA nation, and MAMA
nation has a business relation with a LALA nation enemy, then MAMA business
is a risky business.

According to a source, US presidential candidate Hillary said that she would consider using military force to make Iran drop its nuclear plan if she were elected as the president. The war toward Iran is possible to break out.

GUEST14641 An attack on Iran is a daunting task faced with great difficulties than attack on Iraq. I think Russia and China will not allow the US carrying out such attack without costs and risks where Israel will be under Iran's long range missiles attacks.

Why does Iran not have the right to build nuclear staions, and produce electricity?
Why does America consider it is OK for nuclear stations to be build in the USA, but nobody else can?
Why did Bush tell the world about WMD in Iraq, and con the rest of the world to join him in the invasion of Iraq?
Where are the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, please send pictures to Bush and Blair (and myself)
Was the world not conned by Bush into supporting him in the invasion?
If Bush is against dictators why dioes he not do anything against the dictator in Zimbabwe
If Bush is set on invasion of Iran, let the mad fool waste the lives of even more brave soldiers.
It seems to me that Bush is only interested in countries if the country has oil.
Is this because the USA is afraid of not being able to drive around all day in its gas guzzing cars?
So go ahead Bush invade Iran, but keep looking behind you, because I don't think anybody will be following you on the invasion beaches.
After your cock up (still ongoing) in Iraq) I think you will find Iran a much harder job.
P.S Watch the invasion on CNN. The USA cannot invade until the news cameras are in position

As long as both sides keep thinking of the other as irrational and extremist, the situation risks becoming worse.

The fact is that both sides have legitimate security concerns which will only be satisfied through a process of properly conducted diplomacy.

Clearly China and the many other 'customer' nations of Iran have vested interest in keeping peace between US and Iran, and I hope they will employ their influence to encourage both to enter into constructive dialogue.

In the meantime it is probably better that we don't add our own prejudices as fuel to the fire!
