| Hi All, I'm planning to bring along my family to China during CNY as they only got long holiday during that period of time. Just wondering, as i know that CNY is a big festival in China and know that mostly people will holiday for almost 1 month. So if i travel during that time, is that those tourist places and shops are open? |

| Not only are the tourist places and shops open, they are overwhelmingly busy. If you must travel while you are here ( from city to city, for example ) try not to do so within 2 or 3 days before and after the start and end of the Festival. Make sure to pack lots of patience as the entire transportation system will be operating at maximum capacity. |

| Chinese New year falls on February 8 next year so the week around this date will be the busiest of all so book early, and avoid busy spots but otherwise it will be ok. |

| Hi,Felice821, 1-Since you visit China during CNY, I would like to suggest you to choose a small town or village to experience China traditional Spring Festival. It will has more interesting celebrations and habits instead of big cities. 2-Recommend city : Hangzhou / Shao xin / Wuzhen / Xi'tang 3-Rcommend villages: Guizhou province (Lang De / Xi Jiang / Sha yi / Zhao Xing) GuangXi province ( Chengyang) Yunnan province( Baisha town) 4-After you finish small towns/cities, you can come back to visit Beijing / Xi'an / Shanghai . Enjoy! Yours sincerely, Susan Zheng(China Tour Guide) MSN: hotmail.com|Susan205060 |
