![]() | Due to illegal use of leaked technical documents belonging to Ferrari, UK based F1 team McLaren was fined 100 million dollars by the World Motor Sport Council. That is the biggest scandal in F1 history. Meanwhile, its constructors' points was also deprived of. Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, McLaren drivers escaped from the punishments. On Wednesday, the World Motor Sport Council said in a statement that Mclaren would pay a sum in excess of 50 million dollars to to the International Automobile Federation (FIA), which will use the money to promote safer motorsport worldwide.
