Liu Binjie, head of the General Administration of Press and Publication of China said that China has fully opened its newspapers and publishing groups to go public in domestic or overseas market. Liaoning Publishing group will be the first to issue their IPO. In all, about 13 publishing groups will be allowed to go public. Meanwhile, the government is pushing Xinhuanet belonging to Xinhua News Agency and People's Daily Online, the internet of People's Daily to go public. Through going public, they can raise more captial and boost their strength. It is good for policies propaganda.

Some people feel worried that this move may bring political risks. What do you think of this issue?

I don't understand why it might bring political risks. The press will continue to be subject to guidelines 'which support policies designed to achieve a harmonious society'.
