A research reveals that Chinese people's characters have changed drastically in recent years. Here are the five characteristics:

No.1
Being more responsible to themselves and the society.

No.2
Being more emotional. They have learnt to abreact their feelings, not to hide them in their mind. However, they become more impatient and their emotions are not very steady due to their intense living steps and work pressure.

No.3
Being more prudent and practical. Because of the employment pressure, the present college students have a clear understanding of the current situation----they could not compete with those college students in 80s.

No.4
Preferring to play the role of the leaders. WIth social development, more people would like to start their own career rather than work for others.

No.5
Being more harmonious and tolerant.

The only one thing they have not changed is: face is the very important.

As a foreigner or expat, what do you think of those five characteristics? Did those Chinese people you met have the five characteristics?

Times change, so do people. It seems to me that most of the above-mentioned changes are not quite positive.

Yvonne, what kind of changes do you expect? Personally, I think that No.1,3 and 5 are good.
