Guangzhou is huge !! Not sure if Haizu square is even big enough to rate a bus, without a transfer or two ??

Moreover, at that late an hour, the regular scheduled buses really dry up at Baiyun (CAN) !!

I think your best bet, would be to grab a cab and make the run directly to your hotel. Approx one hour taxi ride at that time of night into the city.

Price, about 200 RMB. In any event, do not pay more than 300 !! Use a metered cab and avoid the guys in plain-wrap unmetered cars, who will approach you.

Try to call or e-mail the hotel and get the address in Chinese characters so you can give to the driver. Most have very limited English.

I leave tomorrow night for GZ, to be with Lao Po. I am fortunate, she only lives 12 minutes from the new airport !!

Go outside and go to the bus #5 you can see the signs: it takes you to
Haizu square, across from the hotel. 25.00 Y, about 45 m trip.
Taxi is 130.00 to 150.00 with the meter on, this toll included.
Go to the taxi line and take a real taxi.
You have an information desk across the exit door after you pick up your luggage.
If you have a?
Have the hotel name on chinese and show it to the driver.

For money there on your left hand side after you pick lugagge is a citi bank ATM,
works like at home.

You are ok with time, but if it is your first time, I recommend a taxi.
As Roger said, it is a very big city.

No need for a taxi. Airport shuttle no.5 will bring you to your hotel for 18 RMB.

Guangzhou is a big city and is very easy to travel. Guangzhou Hotel is very well known too.

For first time traveller, it's simpler and safer to get on the airport shuttle bus (yes no. 5 is your shuttle) that will get you to your hotel without having to make the taxi driver understood or worse to have to bargain...
