| What words in Chinese translate into kind or kind-hearted? I know I can look this up in Wenlin and see 和蔼 or 亲切 as the translation. ...but some times when I hear myself being described by Chinese people as kind or kind-hearted I wonder if the real meaning conveyed is a description of me as weak or foolish (sucker). I often think that having a kind nature lends itself to being taken advantage of..... |

| 善良 shan4 liang2 -- this term can be used to describe a kind person. Does anyone call you ben4 dan4 笨蛋 ? or 傻瓜 sha3 gua1 ? Those words mean "dummy" and "fool". but sometimes in an affectionate way depending how it is said. |
