In China, they are quite renowned for the journalistic career. Over sixty years ago, when Mr. Mao Zelong and other veteran revolutionaries established the red political power in the highland of Northern Shaanxi, Edgar Snow and Helen Snow went there on two different occasions as journalists. They reported the true stories about Chinese revolution and Chinese Communist Party leaders to the outside world. For this reason, the have made remarkable contributions to the cause of Chinese revolution and ther world peace. Moreover, they have written a brilliant page in Chinese and world history of journalism. Sorry, I am not sure where they are from. Have you read any journalistic writings written by them? Have you heard about their stories?

I've heard of them but don't know much about them. I'm interested in this couple whose photo I found in a small museum near Maerkang in Sichuan, another of those places that Mao Zedong and his Generals spent time on their march to Shanxi. I would appreciate if anyone can help identify them

The information given states that his name is Solpurt Bury, journalist, writer and one time Editor-in-Chief of the New York Times. I'm guessing that his name is miss- spelt. I did a google search and came up with nothing.

It is also difficult to determine just when or where the photo was taken but he is said to have visited the area around Maerkang and commented on some of the ancient buildings there. It could have been during the 1940's
