Here is a scenario:

"What happen if Alexander invade China, during the time is only 5 state with Qin is the great. Can Alexander win or not?"

As far as I know, after 11 years of virtually non stop fighting, Alexander's men were throughly fed up and refused to march further. Is it possible for Alexander to invade China?

Alexander reached India in 326BC and fought the battle of Hydaspes in the same year aginst the Indian King Porus, Alexander being 30 in that year.
At that time, China was experienceing a tumultuous period-the Warring States Period. If Alex invade China, what would have happened?

If Alex invaded China, it was very possible that he would fail. After the long-term non-stop fighting, Alexander's troops were exhausted. The morality was quite low after the fierce battle fought in India. From the point of Chinese side, the military power of the seven states were reinforced in Warring States Period than that of the previous Spring and Autumn period due to the longstanding warfares. If the boy Alex did invade, it was hard for his men to win.

Alexander is a dictator. He is arrogant and aggressive. Compared with Qingshihuang, ( the First Emperor of Qin Dynasty) Alexander was a little kid.

GUEST56040 if both sides were with fresh soldiers alexander would have won because of his superior general skills, he already knew how to fight against big numbers. It was a "little kid" that conquered the greatest empire of the time with about 45000 men

GUEST26668 there were many pools and some great lakes

isokrates(reporter of alexander' present)
had writed a scene of "about great lake battle"
many ancedent(also nowaly) readers think
the battle was in &near caspian sea
during 10 years
but alexander had conquared persia already then.
so it's not true.
it's(the scenes of writing) alike
near some steps(then) and lakes(aring, ching hao) of kaklamakan area.
maybe alexander had been there in his hidden years after 33 age.
he also travelled steps of alongside with northern area of china(as waring countries era)
and a king was entered a stage from "xin"
his name is "xinxiwhang" at his last.
he had united all countries of china against "the xiougnu people"
and got a battle with them at the first of china.
he had stored a wall from their war site
and those battles were began and began to the last time of 7 years
during the alek king's troops had shifted
each site and each battle
and each a small wall to the easten china.
last alek has a great battle in western manzuria
the war was ended
maybe no one has victory.

'Alexander is a dictator. He is arrogant and aggressive. Compared with Qingshihuang, ( the First Emperor of Qin Dynasty) Alexander was a little kid.'

Alexander the great is considered possibly the greatest military commander of all time by many.

Who knows what would have happened. Ask someone who is interested in wargames whether they have done any battles using the 2 armies, it would be interesting to see who had the theoretical advantages.
No good asking me as my armies are fron Han dynasty 400 years later.

GUEST12097 hm lets see, if both troops were fresh when they first meet:
Alexander's forces would never be fresh when facing the Chinese in the final battle since their favorite tactics where always attrition, hit and run, etc...
second the only way to enter China is from desert or mountain/forest.

Alexander's advantage are professional heavy infantry, powerful heavy cavalry, excellent strategist, army good moral.
disadvantage outnumber, inferior technological , and although Alexander was brilliant he was impudent.

China's advantage better weaponry (specially crossbow created in 5th BC)because and much better metallurgy, much superior in number probably even greater than the Persian, and last excellent tacticians too, home terrain advantage.
disadvantage weak regular infantry, not good in moral(not united), weaker cavalry.

my conclusion China wins, because unless you can blitz like the mongols with cavalry in cheer number after thousands of years fighting each other, Alexander's army was much slower and they don't know the chines, and Alexander him self cares about honor so he wouldn't use sneaky strategy's but the Chinese wont care about that and they will use every dirty trick to win (it's call tactics) + home terrain advantage = Alexander facing a surprise attack in a mountain/ rocky terrain probably with lot's of forest (guerrilla ). Crossbow can easily penetrate armor/ shields of that time slaughtering many of Alexis forces, and their cavalry wouldn't respond efficiently because of the terrain. In fact they may even burn Alexander and his army in the forest at night...

even if he tries to face China in desert the Chinese wouldn't do it after one or two battle they will retreat, and wait until He across the desert, exhausted and once again beyond the desert is: mountains and forest so in the end it would be the same.

GUESTLYSANDROS Alexander had a vast army after the battle of the Hydaspes River he commanded the macedonian army the allied greek ,persian and indian forces, his army was far bigger than before and he had a vast amount of gold from the persian empire.Superior numbers, war elephants, crossbows Alexander always seemed to surpass the odds and win

GUESTIDIOT Wargames demonstrate that even with Alexander's tactical superiority, the technology (such as crossbows) would seriously damage the lines of Macedonian and Persian troops.
