![]() | A story about buying a house: When an old Chinese woman met an American woman in the heaven, the Chinese woman said that: “I have saved enough money to buy a house by the previous day before my death.” While the American woman said; “After all, I have paid off the housing loans the day before the last moment of my life. However, I have lived in the house for 50 years.” The Chinese woman felt that she can exchange feelings with the American woman since she thought that they both spent the whole lives to save money to support their houses. However, the American woman added: “ In the last days of my life, I visited China to climb the Great Wall, Made a trip to France and enjoyed a lavish French dinner there. I also travelled South Korea and had a plastic surgery there. The bank paid for all my expenses. You know why? Since I was aware that I was passing away soon, I mortgaged my house to a bank. Now, I have nothing to regret. After hearing the words, the old Chinese woman stood still and kept silent for a while. She was pondering what she missed in his life. She murmured in her heart : For the whole life, I strove to buy a house. During the whole life, saving money to buy a house has been the ultimate goal of my life. I was enslaved by my desire to have a house of my own. I was entrapped by the idea that “Before I am 60 I raise my house, After 60 my house supports me”, but that hope disillusioned. I died at the age of 59. Why couldn’t I live a life like the American woman? The lady sighed. |

![]() | LEONARDO, I have read this story. As time changes, Chinese people's traditional concepts have changed a lot. At present, more and more young Chinese adopt American way of life, paying mortgage to buy what they want. Just see how many of them have become house slaves. Quote: Before I am 60 I raise my house, After 60 my house supports me. I just wonder how long my house will support me when I am after 60 since I can just keep my house for 70 years. If I am over 70 years, where should I stay? |
