![]() | My experiences here were in regard to L visas but I guess the same would apply to others applied for within the mainland. 1. You must apply for a visa by the last day that it is valid (obvious!) 2. A new visa is valid from the day it is issued, the day you are told you can collect it. 3. If you apply for a renewal 2 weeks early and get a one month visa, you effectively get only 2 weeks BUT.. 4. If you apply on the last day of validity you get the days in between as a bonus with no visa! (In my case I applied the last day before the October holiday and got 10 bonus days :) |

![]() | Actually, I am surprised that renewals are not based on the date of the expiry of the previous visa. |
