guest11765 I am planning a trip to China in February. I know Chinese New Year is Feb. 7 but wondered how many days should travel be avoided before and after that date. I am concerned with flights and hotels. Thank you.

WELCOME TO CHINA.
The best time about your travel in china is from 7 February. From 1 to 7 February and 11 to 17 February there must be many many people on the train, road and airplane in China. How many days should travel be avoided before and after that date will depend on where you go. That is different situation.
I will give you optimized itinerary based on your traveling plan.

I wouldn't try and travel on the 8th to 10 either. There are not enough seats on the desired dates so many will go those days because that's al they can do...and some return to work early too.
