what is happening in central China in December?

Is there anything special happening in central / north China in December? I haven't heard of anything but was wondering if there are any festivals or particular events through the Yangtze river basin area and also perhaps even in Hebei province. if there's something cool happening, i'd like to know about it so maybe i can stop by :-)
