It is reported that England was beat by Croatia 2 to 3 and failed to qualify for Euro 2008. What sad news! At Wembley Stadium, we see David Beckham crying again. In 2006, he shed tears when he was substituted during the game against Portugal. This time, he cried again. During this match, he was substitute and we did not see he wore No.7 national team uniform. It is he who made a long pass and helped Peter Crouch score one goal. However, tragedy happens again. England lost their game and did not qualify for next year's European Championships.

Some one guesses that it might be David Beckham's last performance on behalf of England. But Beckham said that he would fight for England as long as his team needs him.

Don't cry, England. Don't cry, David Beckham.

No.1 David Beckham made his free kick.

Sorry for unloading a wrong picture. That pic shows David Beckham staring at the score board.

This pix shows David made his free kick.

Well Kevin, I'm not a happy bunny this morning, England were very poor in the first half, in the second half they played a lot better but the damage was done.
I drowned my sorrows in the pub but only 7 pints, I still managed to oversleep this morning but made itr to work on time, just, he he

Quote: I drowned my sorrows in the pub but only 7 pints.

How much did you drink? I have no idea about 7 pins. Let's say it in another way. How many cups or bottles did you drink? BTW, I guess that you drank beer, right? Do not be unhappy. Just look at what I wrote: Don't cry, England. Don't cry, David Beckham (perhaps it should be Alan, not David Beckham here).

To be serious, I sympathized with David Beckham. Although David said he wouldn't retire from England national team, he is old (we have to admit this). What's more, the coach did not believe in him. So far, he has played for England 99 times. Some guys anticipate that this might be the last time we see David play for England. I really do not want to accept this. Yesterday, he cried again for England. Seeing him crying, I felt very sad.

I hope this helps Kevin.
The pint is an English unit of volume or capacity in the imperial system and United States customary units of very roughly half a litre.

As with other measurement units used in the imperial system and USA, the pint used to be a common measure throughout Europe (differing in exact value from country to country) but was replaced in most of Europe with the metric system during the nineteenth century.

A pint is equal one half of a quart, and one eighth of a gallon.

The exact value of a pint differs slightly between systems, and in the US varies according to whether the contents are wet or dry:

United Kingdom, Commonwealth of Nations (Imperial)
1 pint = 20 fluid ounces = 568.26125 ml ≈ 568 ml
1 pint = 4 gills (this was the legal definition although in some areas a gill of milk or beer is referred to as a half-pint; elsewhere a gill was the ⅓ pint of milk given free to school children)

Thanks for your explanation, Alan. 1 pint equals 568 ml (a bottle of coke). You said you drank 7 pints and that was not too much. For me, I don't like beer. My favourite are orange juice and Pepsi :-).
