Beijing to Yichang... how to get train tickets?

how could I get train ticket from Beijing to Yichang? can I buy one on the same day I arrive Beijing or do I have to book earlier?

You must book the train ticket in advance 5 or 7 days. The only one train daily No K49 (1432 km, 14:08 start, 10:33 end) from Beijing to Yichang City. The price of hard sleeper is RMB 319 and the coach soft sleeper is RMB 486.

Bicki. You need to buy in advance because most trains are sold out in advance, not because it is a rule. Ask your agent to book for you. If you need more train times, check the table at the top in this site.

Yes you can buy a train ticket on the same day as you arrive in Beijing. You may not be able to get a birth on a train the same day but I'm sure you'll be spending a few days in Beijing before leaving for Yichang. If not then buy it in advance of your arrival if you would like to be on a train the same day.
