It is my view that the EU has already proved how it will react in a crises. It will do nothing.
The Baulkham problem was typical of the red tape that strangles the EU. Regulations and red tape had troop on the ground just standing back and watching as slaughter was carried out in front of them.
There are more fat cats in Brussels than on a Disney movie, intent only on their aggrandizement.
They cannot even control armies of illegal refugees flooding across Europe looking for a free feed in the UK so how they would handle an aggressor is any ones guess.

EU is still a military dwarf in face of USA. If Russia joined EU, EU's military power will be reinforced. By the end of 21st century, we might eyewitness a new balance of power.

This new ranking is very practical. The middle powers played an important role in the regions they located.
