Roddick beat Dmitry Tursunov to give the United States a 1-0 leg up in their quest to dethrone defending champions Russia. And his teammate James Blake beat Mikhail Youzhny in four sets. According to the rules of Davis Cup, US can realize their dream of claiming the champions as long as they win their double games tomorrow. If this come true, that means US claims the champions of Davis Cup after 12 years. What a long time! During the game against Tursunov, Roddick broke his rival's service four times and served 25 ACEs. It almost seems trivial to me. I view Roddick the same way I view Agassi, Nadal Courier, and all the other power players. :) Unfortunately for the U.S., they are no longer on top of the tennis world. Serbia and Russia have been quite strong in recent years. BTW, did you receive the e-mail I sent you? |
