It's quite common that you get up in the last minute in the morning, and go to work in the last minute, you are always in a hurry.

It seems that you cannot wait to earn more money, you cannot wait to get promotion, you are always in a hurry.

For me, I think happiness is the main reason that I live my life here in this world. If I cannot cannot catch the last bus to the office; If I cannot go to work today; if I lose my job, big deal?

If I cannot become a millionaire or a multimillionare in one year, two years, big deal?

You may get up earlier if you always worry that you will be late, or if you cannot get up earlier, then don't worry: everything will not be that bad if you are late.

I'm trying to enjoy every minute of my life, nothing can sadden me unless it concerns the health or life of myself, my family or my friends.

While I sympathise with your feelings Lizxli, I guess u r not the responsible for paying the rent or mortgage and feeding a whole family. Then it DOES matter if you lose your job. In fact we fight to keep jobs we hate, we struggle to get up in the morning, and we accept sh.t from our boss or colleagues. Now that I am again single and semi-retired I can live like u say - yes I can be myself again -almost :)

To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that, which is planted?
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace
There is a time for everything under the sun.

I don’t know about other people. I can only speak for myself. ^_^"

I work. I work because my parents raised us to be independent and to be self-reliant, to make it on our own. I work because I don’t want to be a burden to my parents. I work because I am too proud to be on a public charge. I work because it is a good feeling to know that I am a part of something bigger, a workforce, an economy.

I work because I don’t have a rich man who will support me, nor consciously looking for one. I work because I have to live and enjoy life as well. That means I can pay for utility bills and pay my monthly mortgage. On the other hand, that also means I can afford to travel and do the things I love to do. I try to enjoy what I’m doing for a living. My philosophy is, if I’m going to work because it would enable me to do the things I love, then I might as well love it too.

There is a reason why there are laws about work hours, why workers are allowed sick and vacation leaves, and why there are breaks even at work. There is a reason why there are weekends and why the phrase “TGIF or Thank God, it’s Friday” was coined. We all need a break after working hard. It is so that we can just kick back and relax, so we can have the time to smell the flowers. The decision is yours if you want to use them or not. Ever considered about rewarding yourself?

As for me, I work hard but I play hard as well. ;-)

indeed there is time, time for you, and time for me,
time for a hundred indecisions,
for a thousand more reflections -
before the taking of a toast and tea...

Interesting for some reflections on work, in a travel forum.... here it goes -

"Toads" by Philip Larkin

Why should I let the toad work
Squat on my life?
Can't I use my wit as a pitchfork
And drive the brute off?

Six days of the week it soils
With its sickening poison -
Just for paying a few bills!
That's out of proportion.

Lots of folk live on their wits:
Lecturers, lispers,
Losers, loblolly-men, louts-
They don't end as paupers;

Lots of folk live up lanes
With fires in a bucket,
Eat windfalls and tinned sardines-
They seem to like it.

Their nippers have got bare feet,
Their unspeakable wives
Are skinny as whippets - and yet
No one actually _starves_.

Ah, were I courageous enough
To shout, Stuff your pension!
But I know, all too well, that's the stuff
That dreams are made on:

For something sufficiently toad-like
Squats in me, too;
Its hunkers are heavy as hard luck,
And cold as snow,

And will never allow me to blarney
My way of getting
The fame and the girl and the money
All at one sitting.

I don't say, one bodies the other
One's spiritual truth;
But I do say it's hard to lose either,
When you have both.

Lizxli,

As you are young, you can indulge in some non-sense here and there.
Do not over due it.
A great number of westerners, especially young that you see living around in China are doing just that, which you yearn for from time to time, as you are young and restless.
What good is wealth and success if you cannot enjoy it?
