Does any one know of the cheapest way to get to Guilin from Hong Kong? Specifically buses or trains unless you know of any cheap flights.

You can take bus from the Shenzhen Yinhu Station, or take L702 at the Shenzhen Railway Station to Guilin. It is said that Guangzhou Station and Tianhe Station have the buses, and one train to Guilin at night.

But now the road condition is not so good. If take bus from Shenzhen to Guilin, it would spend about 2 hours at least, from Guangzhou beyond 10 hours. Do make a good preparation, for it would be weary by bus. Train would take more time than bus, but more safty and convenient. Every day there has flight from Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou to Guilin.

If 'cheapness' is your main consideration, then the coaches from Shenzhen or Guangzhou are the best option. The road is fine, but it is about a 10 hour trip. Trains are the next best option (pricewise) but take about the same time. Flights are MUCH cheaper from inside the Chinese mainland than from HK.

Would you happen to know of the costs for return bus, train or air journeys? Also, would you happen to have any web sites of domestic air, bus and train carriers who I could book in advance with? Thanks for this information it has been extremely helpful :)
