![]() | Sirens wail, people silenced and put the wreath in front of the cemetery of the victims in the Nanjing Massacre. Today is mournful occasion. Today in history, (1937) more than 300,000 Chinese lost their lives in a six-week massacre that took place in December 1937 when Japanese troops occupied Nanjing. A new 25,000-square-meter extension of the memorial hall was inaugurated. It houses original remains, sculptures and historical records of the massacre. Japanese soldiers buried Nanjing civilians alive. ![]() |
