Where to visit in Guilin in January

guest18247	Hi I'm a young Chinese Canadian and will be from Shenzhen to Shanghai (Jan 3-6) then Beijing (Jan 6-9) then Guilin (Jan 9-11). I have couple of questions that I need answers to: 1. In Guilin, I want to take the boat tour on the river (can that be booked there or do I have to bok in advance) and any other place to visit in Guilin. 2. In Guilin, I heard there are lots of thieves, will it be dangerous to travel on my own there. 3. I want to do a train trip between the cities I will be travelling, which one will be the nicest where u can see beautiful landscape and interesting place to go through (SZto SH, SG to BJ, BJ to GU or GU SZ) 4. 1. You can buy cruise ticket in Guilin directly and no need to buy in advance.

2. Normally local people is very kind but don't believe some guys who tell you will get big lottery or pick pocket from the street etc story.

3. If you want to experience the train, you can choose trip within 3hours (long distance train make you tired) & choose D-series train(it is the fastest and most comfortable train now).
