What's the cheapest way to go to Dalian in Liaoning, China from Hongkong?

Best and worst to expect when travelling to Dalian in Liaoning China from Hongkong airport. Please indicate harges and the cheapest place to stay. I am a Filipino and will be in Dalian soon. Hope friendly people in this community can help me out. Thanks

Cheapest place to stay: Sleeping bag on any of the squares in Dalian. There're so many.
There're no trains or buses from Hong Kong/Shenzhen/Guangzhou to Dalian. I would probably suggest that you take the Hong Kong -- Beijing train and then another Beijing -- Dalian train. Trains are cheaper than buses.
