The mascot for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo was unveiled on Tuesday evening, 865 days before the event opens.

The mascot is named Haibao, which literally means "treasure of the world". The emblem for the expo resembled the Chinese character SHI, or world. "The mascot deepens the expo theme 'Better city, better life'.

The expo will be held from May 1 to October 31, 2010, expecting to draw 70 million visitors, an average of 400,000 a day. This is the first time that the Expo will be held in a developing country since the inaugural fair in London in 1851. Shanghai won its bid for the expo in December 2002.

This mascot is very cute. I like the slogan " Better city, better life". City should be beautified. Life needs to be beautified.
