Do you ever see those landowners or rich men in Chinese movies? Most of them were arrogant and overconfident. Why? They were rich and had a lot of money. What about those poor people? They felt scared by those rich men and many of them were unconfident. Why? They were so poor. Today, some rich men are still arrogant and overconfident. Those poor people are still unconfident. In school, those rich men's sons usually laugh at or bulley those who are from poor family. However, they daren't fight back. Very sad!

Does it mean that 'no money means no confidence'? How do you view this issue?

I see many of Chinese people are confident in many way no matter how rich how poor.

And many of rich people I know is not arrogant at all.

Travel many places and socialize with more people, your view may be changed.

Movies usually support stereotyping. I know so many rich people who are not arrogant in anyway. In fact, you won’t even know they are rich because they don’t show it in how they dress or act. Besides, how do you define rich anyway? There will always be someone who is richer.

If your confidence comes from having money, what will happen to your confidence once you lose all your money?

I think it is very disappointing that a poor guy who otherwise has so much to offer would belittle himself and hide just because he doesn’t have money or he can’t buy a house. Just remember, you can work hard to buy a house but you can’t buy a better heart even if you own the world.

Find your good points and confidently show them to the world. Work hard to attain what you want but when you get them don’t forget where you came from or else you would turn into the very same people you despise.

Wealth is a measure of success. It always has been.

What is lost in this is the meaning of success.

A good mother or father who raises happy and loving children who are marvelous parents have success beyond measure. There are people who understand this and increasing number of people who do not understand and appreciate this basic truth..

SHESGOTTOBE, your words are very encouraging.

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." I like Roosevelt's words very much.

Some people see the physical appearance of wealth as actual wealth and it's very easy to mistaken this because of how our society's viewpoint, which is:

material things = wealth.

Truth is, no matter what your age, there are always going to be people who think this way. You would think that they would think differently because they are older.

A person with a lot of material things may have nothing in the bank and sitting on a mountain of debt, whereas a person who doesn't look wealthy may be worth a lot more than meets the eye.

You really never know. You can't know.

And it's true, what is wealth anyway? It's all going back in the box when you die. It's difficult to persist in this kind of view towards life, but it's the truth.
