How to travel from Hong Kong to Mainland China

guest15678 How can I get from Hong Kong to Mainland China? I heard that you can take a ferry or fast boat of some sort over to Shenzhen- can anyone direct me to where I can find more information on this? Also, how much it costs and how long will it take?

(background info: I'm all set on traveling from Shanghai <Shanghai, Huang Shan, Hangzhou, Suzhou) up to Beijing and then Harbin by train, and just found out that it's so much cheaper to fly into Hong Kong than Shanghai or Beijing... and figured it's a great opportunity to spend a couple of days in Hong Kong).

Thank you so much.

You could consider taking the train from HK (Kowloon) to Shanghai, if that is still where you want to go. For details use the Train tab at the top of this page. Train T100B

Agree, take the Hong Kong -- Shanghai train. Most hassle-free and cheapest method though certainly not the fastest.
