![]() | "Do you think having a mother-in-law to babysit the children is a great idea? " Definitely yes. As you said, they can offer "free babysitting". Why not? Haha! This is my understanding: Having a mother-in-law to take care of kids, I can have more personal freedom to focus on my career and entertain myself. A mother-in-law is the most reliable babysitter since she loved her grandchildren more than her son(your husband). |

![]() | I think it's true that you will have free babysitting but living with in-laws is not as easy as you think. It depends on how traditional his parents are. If they are traditional people who think you should do the cooking and cleaning AND they want to tell you how to do things, i.e. raise your children then it is not a good idea. Also, if you and your husband get into an argument, it is three against one, because he won't side with you for the sake of his parents (filial piety). A marriage is already hard enough but when you add in parents, that's just asking for a divorce. If you have no choice but to have them move in, make sure there are certain guidelines that you and your husband lay out. It will be easier to anticipate future problems then to deal with them as they come. It will save you a lot of headaches. As for me, I'd never live with my in-laws unless they listen to me under my house and are flexible. - moondollars http://community.faithvine.com/ |
