The Beijing Olympic Games will fall on August 8, 2008. “8” is a Chinese lucky number. “8’ symbolizes “ good luck” and “ fortune”. Selecting August 8th as the date of opening ceremony indicates Chinese people’ good wishes for Beijing Olympic Games. The theme of this Olympic Game is “ One World, One Dream”. What’s Beijing’s Dream? Could the dream be realized? What will this Olympic Games bring for China? Opportunity or Challenge? Challenge? Yes, Beijing’s public facilities will be challenged. Beijing’s goods price is hiking. The bubbles are floating in the real estate market. Opportunity? Yes, China will welcome tens of millions of tourists and athletes from all over the world. It is a good chance for China to showcase its rich and profound culture to the outside world. Despite that China has opened its gate to for 30 years (since 1978), the rest of the world still has a vague vision of China. Whether the advantages of hosting this Olympic Feast outweigh its disadvantages is still a question. We should wait. Time can tell, but we can forecast.
