![]() | Do you meet such a robber? He rides a car and scrapes his car against other cars intentionally. Then he asked other drivers to give money for him because his car was damaged. If the driver doesn't give money, he will take out a fake handgun to menace him. After reading what I wrote, you must think that he is a real bastard. Don't be angry! The most interesting is that he never ' robs' female drivers. Why? He said that he felt ashamed to do so. However, many netizens applause for him. Why? They think that he is a real villain. Are those netizens are bullheaded? No. In their opinions, real villains are better than hypocrites. One netizen commented like this:" A guy who dares to pee at the diving platform is called a 'real villain'; However, the one who pee secretly in the swimming pool and pretended that he didn't do it is totally a hypocrite." The difference is that the real villain dares to admit that he committed a crime. But the hypocrite doesn't have the courage to admit his crime and still pretends that it was not done by him. In your opinion, who are meaner, real villains or hypocrites? |

![]() | Which was first, chicken or egg? Basicly there is no difference if pee to a swimming pool secretly or public. Pee is there anyway. But there are some, well, can call them rules non written for behavior. One may pee to pool, but does he have to give all other people bad feelings? For them too, who honestly think the water in pool is clean? And, not all pee to pool. To me someone who pees in pool and other who robs people are not very suitable to same connection. Whether do it public os secretly. Robber is a criminal, pee´er is only a jerk. Carlos |

![]() | The world would be a better place with fewer of each sort JIMMYB. I've always thought that it was easier to shoot a target out in the open rather a target behind a tree. To directly answer your question: comparing a criminal to a hypocrite may not be the best comparision. Consider the case of two employees: one tells the boss "Your idea stinks!"; the other employee says "That is a great idea, Boss." However, when the boss is gone, the employee who originally praised the boss tells everyone, "Our boss and his ideas are certainly stupid." Or consider the case of the open racist vs the closet (concealed) racist... While the openly bad person is usually the biggest problem, there are times when those who conceal their thoughts and actions are a bigger threat. |

Good point. Quote: While the openly bad person is usually the biggest problem, there are times when those who conceal their thoughts and actions are a bigger threat. Griz, who do you think is more horrible? We can slove 'the biggest problem' since we have noticed it. But how about 'a bigger threat'? It is just a threat and we don't know when it turns to be a big problem. Personally, I think those hypocrites are meaner than real villains. |

![]() | Considering the kind of business that he engages in, it cracks me up how he would be ashamed to rob women. So a robber has some shame, after all. Isn’t that a form of hypocrisy, too? Anyway, robbery is robbery whether one is doing it to men or women. Fake gun or not, the point is he wanted to terrorize the poor guy and he achieved that goal. Personally, I would rather know if a person is a cheat. At least I can be careful. The one who is good at deception is probably just more dangerous because he would make me lower my guard and render me more vulnerable. But then, I am not about to suspect everyone around me and lose sleep over it. |

![]() | Quote: So a robber has some shame, after all. Isn’t that a form of hypocrisy, too? Good point, SHESGOTTOBE. Well, I think it is hard to know if a person is a cheat. Just as thieves, they won't tell others they are thieves. I wonder if you have watched 'A World Without Thieves'. In that movie, Shagen shouts at the railway station:"Who are thieves? IMO, there should be no thief in the world. When I was inspecting a building site, those wolves even didn't eat me. On contrary, I made friends with them. Thus, I don't think there are thieves in the world." Was he silly or just innocent? What we can do is to keep alert though we believe that there are more good men in the world. As a Chinese saying goes, harbour no ill intention against others,But never relax vigilance against evil-doers. |
