The Australian Open will be held in Melbourne from January 14 to 27. According to the news, almost male tennis players who rank top 100 in the world will take part in that Grand Slam. Of course, Federer, Nadal, Rodick and other tennis stars will not miss it. Those tennis fans have high expectations on Federer. So far, he has won 12 Grand Slams. If he can won another two this year, he will tie the record set by Sampras. For women's singles, Henin, Davenport, Sharapova and Serena Williams will also fight in Australian Open. Several days ago, Serena Williams said in an interview that she was expecting to fight with Henin. Will she succeed? Let's wait and see. BTW, draws for men and women's singles have been unveiled. To get the detailed info, please access to: http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/scores/draws/ms/r1s3.html

What do you think of the draws? Any views and opinions are welcome.

Hi Kevin,

I haven't looked carefully at the draws yet but I will be following the Australian Open
very closely for the next two weeks! :)

I hope it proves to be entertaining and fun to watch.

CANADAGUY, will you go to Australia to watch it lively? That will be great. Looking forward to your good news.

Well, I'm not so lucky to be able to go to the tournament, but I will be watching as many matches as I can on the internet and later on TV.

Hi, CANADAGUY. I don't know if CCTV5 broadcasts Australian Open. If not, I need to watch those matches on the internet too. Looking forward to your comments on those matches.

GUEST19995 I am trying to see anything from AO on CCTV 5 but no luck so far.
Any idea when CCTV5 is going to show something (Friday-Sunday)?

There are two ways that I know to see daily coverage on the internet.

1. Download Sopcast software and open the Star Sports Channel.

2. Go to this site http://channelsurfing.net/ and
scroll down to the Australian Open links.
You would need to watch at the correct time.

I have been using 1. for the first week and a half.
I am also starting to watch a few matches on TV, now that they are broadcasting.

Why not tell me earlier? I have missed many games, Canadaguy. But I wonder if the Sopcast software works well. Anyway, I will try what you have suggested. Thanks.

I'm sorry Kevin, I had no way of knowing that you couldn't watch the matches, otherwise I would have told you about this earlier!

Yes, if you have a modern computer and a cable connection to the internet, then Sopcast work very well.

The only negative thing is that the video box that shows the match is very small on your screen.
You can't really make it bigger because the quality of the image then suffers.

But the streaming is very good. If there isn't a lot of traffic when you are watching, the images will be very smooth, like watching TV.

If you would like to see some high-quality 'highlights' of the matches that have been played, let me know. I can give you the links to download them.

Thanks for answering, CANADAGUY. I will try Sopcast to see Men and Women's Singles.

Definitely yes. Please give me the links. I have noticed that I am fond of watching tennis games. Perhaps, I will learn to play tennis. Is it too late? Originally, I played football in high school and badminton in college and I have been fond of watching football and badminton games for a long time.
