| hi, I am likely to head for Mount Tai(Tai Shan) for my internship program over there and i am currently having some troubles sourcing for the right transportation to Tai Shan which is within Shandong itself. To people who are familiar with the route: Are there any recommended transportation that i should take and how much will it cost? i could really use some help over here. Thanks a lot, Kean |

| Buy a ticket coming back from Jinan. Jinan is only a couple of hours from Taishan, and the timings are good too. That's what we did last June. Oh and if you'd like to see more tips/photos for Taishan, do visit my VirtualTourist Taishan travel page: http://members.virtualtourist.com/ Any more queries please email me at yahoo.com|ellyse99 and put "TravelChinaGuide" in the subject line, thanks. |

| Have you taken a look at my VirtualTourist Taishan travel page (http://members.virtualtourist.com/ Train, not trail, I presume? These are the D trains. Shanghai -- Taishan: D76/D77 (0732--1413) 6h41min D196/D197 (0756--1457) 7h01min D32 (1042--1709) 6h27min Shanghai -- Taishan overnight train: T106 (2152--0559) 8h07min Taishan -- Shanghai: D78/D75 (1358--2044) D198/D195 (1415--2112) D31 (1429--2057) No airport at Taishan, the nearest airport is at Jinan. I would suggest that you take the overnight train there, then the D train to come back. I presume you'd like to save some money instead of going to Jinan to fly back. What date and time can you leave Shanghai, and what date and time do you need to be back by? |
