Thanks for the response, Dee

We are going to have to cut our trip down by a week or so, so
that we visit China for 2 weeks or so.

It has been hard try to figure out what we should do on our own,
and what we should do with a tour, since our budget is limited.

I would like to spend considerable time in Guilin, the Yellow
Mountains, Jiuzhaigou, and perhaps Mt. Huangshan also.

We are planning to fly into Beijing. I think we may be able to
manage there on our own, and then take the train to Guilin,
although I don't want to miss Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an.

In Guilin, I'm not sure if we can find our way to the main places,
but we'd like to try. The Yangzse river cruise may be too
expensive, but we'd like to take it.

From there we would like to travel either to Shanghai - and from
there the Yellow Mountains to hike up them, and then the other
direction to Jiuzhaigou, but we'd like to fit both in. I'm not sure
if there is a train from Guilin to the Yellow Mountains, and from
Guilin to Jiuzhaigou, that would be great.

We plan to try and visit the most scenic places in China in the
amount of time we have. If there is a smart way to do this, I
would be hapoy to hear suggestions.

Your help is very vital to our journey in beautiful China.

ADDED: From browsing the 70 cities located on this website,
some more scenic places we would like to visit are:

West Lake in Hangzhou
Longsheng
Anshun
Guizhou
Chengde
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
Suzhou - Feckiness
Hangzhou

Now, to make an itinerary that can incorporate as many of these
in an intelligent way - perhaps a circle to the final destination of
the Beijing airport will take time and is what I need help with.

Thank you

Jeffrey
