Have you ever thought about what the point of luxurious couture is?

In my understanding, the original point of couture is to have a garment made to disguise your flaws and make your life easier. To put it simply, it is to make women feel beautiful, and to solve their problems.

Unfortunately, in reality, the original point of couture has got fuzzy. The design of luxurious fashion collection is only a dream-realizing process of fashion designers. The fashion designer’s excuse is “you can dream when you design couture” . Fashion designers are a bunch of utopian dreamers. They have the freedom of creating genuinely extraordinary garments without considering the restrictions of price-points and marketing imperatives.

Undoubtedly, most of the clothes they designed are gorgeous, flashy and pompous, but its utility is doubtful. Most of the collections are unwearable for most of women because few of women can afford to wear the clothes. Besides, the models were so skinny they seemed to clatter inside their bodices. The majority of women can not have the privilege to have access to those flashy clothes the designers made. Most couture were absolutely literal interpretations of arcane fashions – and unwearable. The point of design pompous couture is doubtful.

I don't understand it either. I mean the purpose of those designs that you can't really wear anywhere. And actually, I never really got interested in following the fashion trend. All I care about is that I have something to wear and I am comfortable in it.

Yes, I am with you. Most of the designs have little utility. Can we wear them to go to work? We can't do some washing dressing in the clothes. There are few occassions on which we can wear the clothes.

GUESTFAD Fashion designers are a bunch of dreamers. They are impractical. Only the models can wear the luxurious couture. Can a housewife wear the clothes to do housework or cook?
Can an office lady wear the luxurious couture to work?

I wish I could make so much money for my dreams!

I have heard that these 'inspirations' are used as the basis of more down to earth everyday clothes - it is not intended that the fashion parade garments hould be worn - other than by some extrovert filmstars.

GUEST6151 Haute couture is for appreciation. It is more of spiritual than material. Only those peopke who are well-off enough are in the mood for appreciating the haute couture. We are a bunch of bread-earners. That is the problem.
