guest48224 I am going from Hong Kong to Foshan, Guangzhou by train. When will i know if i've reached Foshan,Guangzhou, are the names of the train station in English as well as Chinese, will the train guards announce the destination in English as well as Chinese?

I will be meeting my translator at Foshan train station.
Thank you for you help.

The station names are in Pinyin (rather than English) but there are not usually many signs.

Find out approximately how long it will take you to get to Fushan from the previous stop (Guangzhou, I would guess and that is a major station) and you will have a good idea when you are arriving. On the train, show yr ticket to your fellow passengers, especially when you think you will be arriving. Finally, if you are unsure, show yr ticket to the carriage attendant as he/she will unlock the door to let you off.

Foshan is in Guangdong province, not Guangzhou province. Guangzhou is another city in the same province, very close to Foshan.
There're no direct trains for Hong Kong -- Foshan, you'll have to change trains in Guangzhou.
