| Hello "Judoka". I've done some research for you and have found some information from the U.S. Department of State which is directly applicable to you. The one visa type that comes into question is the Immigrant Visa for a Spouse (IR1 or CR1). Information about this visa type can be found here: http://travel.state.gov/ There are two other visa types which you may want to take a look at, namely the Nonimmigrant Visa for a Spouse (K-3) and the Nonimmigrant Visa for a Fiance(e) (K-1) (click the applicable links at http://travel.state.gov/ You can find out about how much you will be charged for the various services by going to http://travel.state.gov/ I hope that helps. |

| Judoka, I have around 12 cousins who have married in China. Let me tell you, the process is long and costly either way you go. Half of my cousins did the paperwork on there own and the other half hired lawyers who specialize in this and the time it takes to bring ones spouse over is usually within weeks or months of each other if doing it by yourself or lawyer. Expect at least 2 years after you submit your papers to the USCIS, even longer since they have a larger backlog from the rate increase. Good Luck Judoka, Danny |
