MAYONG Points: Join Date: Jan 17, 2005 Status: offline	Plan to stay at a hotel on Beijing Road and heard that this is in the heart of Guangzhou. Is this true? What are the best shopping mall/plaza in Guangzhou for ladies clothes (good quality and inexpensive) and Toy shops (children)? Also where are the best place to Eat Good Food in Guangzhou? What are the food specialities now? We are looking for Dim Sum in the morning, Cantonese cuisine etc. Any idea where you can help? What about shopping tips? We plan to visit the Yuexie Park, Western Han Nanyue King's Tomb Museum, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall and White Cloud Mountain also. PLan to go by Bus. Do you know where to get the bus from Beijing Road in GUangzhou?

Yes, Beijing Road is the exact center of Guangzhou, where you will find shops, malls, eateries, etc.
You will find the bus station near the entrance to Beijing Road.
As the traditional Dim Sum, of course, the best place is in Xi Guan, where you can visit Chen Jia Ci(the Chen Clan’s hall). Clothes, toys and other accessories there are cheaper than in malls on Beijing Road. There are also small shops on Beijing road where you can find good bargains but bargaining is absolutely necessary. Generally, you can get things at 1/3 of the offered price. Another place to buy clothes is near the railway station. There is a wholesale market but I do not recommend this. This is a good place of locals. You cannot try clothes on and there is no practice of refunding.
Yuexiu Park is not far from Western Nanyue Tombs, both not far from the old Baiyun airport.
Besides buses, subway is also a good choice. Be aware of pickpockets!
