GUEST16150 if you want to do this, just make sure you have someone local with you who know about buying these things.

first of all you have to bargain, but also you have to ask the right questions about what you get. So you need someone who speaks chinese

Try to get in contact though this forum with a student with knowledge about computers.

GUEST96224 Namaste! I am in China now. In my point of view, as long as you can communicate with Chinese others, you can get a bargain as local people do.

Outside tourist areas you will not normally get ripped off - but you must undestand where and when to negotiate prices and what the price to locals is. I pay a little over the odds but I am nor normally ripped off. Tourist areas are more difficult, but mostly in many ways it is the ignorance of the visitor which is the issue.

Don't expect great bargains in electronics. Margins are quite low on them even in China. As these are relatively high priced goods the cost of transport overseas is a small part of total cost, and with just in time buyinging, there is little difference in prices overseas.

If you want to buy substantial amounts in Guangdong, I have a good friend who will help you for a very
moderate fee...msg me if u want.
