Extramarital affairs are everywhere in the world. Humans in the world share almost the same genes.

GUESTHAN Because Chinese men are wealthy now since the mid 80s. More money, more opportunities for men mean to have distractions, amusements, pursuits, interests, etc.

GUEST03115 There is double standard when it comes to marriage to traditional Chinese. Women are told to be faithful and devoting even she does not love her husband (and he does not love her either). Men are spoiled by mothers, aunts, sisters, wives and girlfriends. Although in the wedding ceremony a broom may be told to be a faithful husband, he knows that in fact if he can attract more women other than his wife, everyone (especially the males) will praise him, thinking he is outstanding.

In case his marriage fails due to his affairs, he can often get away without paying much money to his wife. Chinese men often tell lies to relatives and friends, saying that it was the wives that had an affair, and had gone completely mad during and after divorce. Sadly, all women on the men’s family side help the husband to defame the victim wife. Even female friends of that poor wife laugh at her because she “failed to keep her husband from other women”, and that she was not a good wife.

The divorced man then tell everyone that he paid lots of money to his wife to “get rid of her” (or “compensate her”), often a house, some men claims he gave all his assets to her. In fact, they never do. They never give the poor women a cent!

Some traditional Chinese men would do anything to make themselves look GOOD. They just won’t do anything to behave.

They knew in a traditional Chinese society, a divorced woman would live a miserable live (that she can hardly pull herself together, there is no social benefit for her to live a life, she cannot find a job after 35 years old unless she become a maiden or a mistress, and if she remain single she would be assaulted by all kind of Chinese men whoever know that she hasn’t got a man yet). Despite the fact that men swear in their wedding that they would take good care of their wives all their lives, they abandon their responsibility when they don’t need the wives any more.

You can often see Chinese families who has a daughter whose life has just ruined by another family’s son, and help his own son to dump other family’s daughter and try not to give that poor woman a cent to live a life.
