traveling to Beijing and to Changsha in early March

'm going to be in Beijing and then in Changsha in early March, for about 8 days. I need to pack light and am trying to figure out the best clothes to bring ... do I need a winter coat in early March? I'm assuming this is WAY too early to wear sandals and closed-toe shoes are best?

Thanks for any advice anyone may have ...

I would still prefer to bring the coat. And definitely closed-too shoes, get a comfortable pair as you'll be doing lots of walking!
