What is China's overall impression of...?

guest12972 Hello! I will be going to China for college in the fall, but am from the U.S. I'd really like to know what the Chinese people as a whole think about a few things, such as...

people with red hair?
women wearing a bit of eye makeup?
women with belly button piercings?
working out, possibly at a gym?
high heels?
jewelry (diamonds and such)?
black clothing (such as sweater dresses and such)?
bright pink clothing?
designer purses?

Just very curious! Any input would be great to hear :-)

As far as I am concern, the listed things are all acceptable in the eyes of an open Chinese. Belly button piercing may leave a bad impression for the middle-aged Chinese who will be your professors and school authority. That's my one cent.

People in China aren't remarkably different from people in the US. The older generation might frown at unusually placed piercings and would show a greater appreciation for modesty, however the youth are, by and large, empowered, fashion conscious and prone to rebeilious behaviour.

I do think, though, that everyone will just love the red hair. Particularly if it's a really vibrant red.
