GUEST11416 Hi,
I am currently holding a valid L type visa for China with a single entry, I have used it and have since traveled to Russia, I am going back and had originally planned to directly fly to Japan, however I am now encountering complications, is there a way to take another entry before I arrive in China on the 24th? Can this be done at the airport? Do I need to phone my embassy?

You must apply for a new L visa. As we have said elsewhere, you would probably have no problem getting the visa in normal times, but these are not normal times. These are Olympic times and you might find you cannot get a visa except in the country of your passport., or at the very least you must provide full evidence of booked accommodation for the whole duration of your planned stay. Tough, but until late Sept (after the paralympics), this is the reality.

I have a L visa single entry, and I am in China Beijing now. I am planing to go to Shanghai on 29/August/2008, and to Hong Kong on 4/Sept/2008, and back to China on 8/Sept/2008. Can I change my single entry visa to double entry? or do I need to apply for a new visa? If I want to apply for new visa before I go to Hong Kong, what is the address/phone number in Beijing or ShangHai I should go for the visa? User APAULT mentioned PSB. What is PSB?

You can't apply for a new visa while you are in China. You will need to get a new one in HK. However, as you don't state which country you are from, we can't be more helpful.

We will now change our schedule to stay longer in HK so we would have enough time to apply for new L visa in HK. We are from Australia.
Thanks.

Hi, we're from Singapore.

We intend to fly into China (with 30-day visa), then cross overland to Vietnam when visa is dued.

Will stay in Vietnam for a week or 2 before crossing overland into China, and make our way to Mongolia within 15 days.

As Singaporeans, visa is not necessary if we don't exceed 15 days stay in China.

However, in our situation, would we be seen as 'double entry', and be asked to produce a 2nd visa ?
Would we be able to get a new visa in Vietnam if it's necessary?

Thank you.

I have only just noticed Barwontan's post: for readers today, that comment was only relevant to the Olympic period. Normally you can apply for two new L visas from within the mainland.

Guest10246: Based on the way the system works on other situations, you should not need a visa for the second entry. The first entry was for longer than the 15 days so you obtained a visa.... had u not done so China would surely have done as other countries do....on arrival you would have had yr passport stamped with a permit to enter for 15 days. This is what I would expect to happen on the second entry which is entirely separate from the first. Ask yr travel agent or the Chinese Consulate....and whatever you find out or what happens to you...please tell us in here.
