 | Agree, Griz. They should kill them without causing much pain to seals. BTW, I am ashamed for those who wear clothes made of seal's fur. They are accomplices. |

| Sorry, I didn’t even look at the pictures. The first time I saw a picture like these, I couldn’t shake off the image from my mind. It’s so disturbing it haunted me for weeks! I understand that people eat animals but I hope they don’t kill them in a brutal way. Come to think of it, is there really any difference between killing a pig, a chicken, a deer, a cow, a lamb or a seal? I think killing animals is acceptable as long as it is done as humanely as possible and only if for food and not for trophy. Don’t make the animals suffer more than what is necessary! Cow hides are used to make boots and coats, after getting the meat part, of course. Each species have to be balanced so that we should also be careful not to overkill some animals to the point of extinction. That is, if we don’t want the whole ecology system gets out of whack. O_o |

O_o It seems we think alike, I too believe if we are not careful a lot of our wildlife will become extict, I understand the need to cull the over populated animals but only in a humane way. Alan |

| Most of us eat meat and wear shoes made of leather. I wear a fur lined coat made from sheep wool. If the demand for the prouct was not there it would stop. So stop eating meat etc. Dodger |

| I agree with SHESGOTTOBE. I am not squeamish about most things, but images of the brutal slaying of seals are truly disturbing. However, there are traditions and rites embedded in human culture that are hard to erdicate, and equally difficult for 'outsiders' to comprehend. I find myself on the fence in some cases - like traditional Eskimo hunting practices, since there is respect for animals in that they are taken for food or clothing. But 'blood sports' like bull fighting, cock fighting, and dog fighting - to me - involve truly cruel humans exploiting animals for the sheer pleasure of seeing them bleed to death or violently kill each other. I do appreciate the principles of Kosher and Halal when it comes to the humane slaughter of animals for food. But other forms of killing animals - for fun, trophies, or whatever reason other than food - just makes no sense to me. Isn't it sad and a bit frightening to think that some humans ARE truly cruel and have a blood lust for killing animals or watching animals be killed? |
