bus travel between Xian and Beijing
Mar 9, 2008 18:34
guest14964 My daughter (33) and I (61) want to travel by bus from Xian in August , 2008. We will be joining a group tour in Beijing on 20 August. How many hours on the road? How hot is it likely to be? Any 'comfort' stops en route?
How many foreigners travel by bus on the common route? any other travel tips? n.b. we are australians from melbourne. AnnG

Why not take the train? It's going to be much more comfortable than the bus, and most probably faster too.
Cheers!

GUEST14964 Thank you for your comment. We are planning to travel Beijing to St.Petersburg and onto Helsinki by train.

GUEST24987 I am an ex-pat and live and work in beijing.Forget the bus it is too cumbersome you can take an overnight train to Xi'an for the same price and it takes 11 hours, while a bus woul take twice as long.

Yes, that was what I tried to say earlier. I suppose these travellers want a change from train travel.
