Hi all,
I am a newspaper photographer travelling to Kunming for the China Vs Aust socceroos match ... love to catch up with some Aussie family living in the area who may like to give me a few tips and perhaps even like to come to the game...

Gidday,

I'm not in Kunming as you can see, and I'm not sure that we have any active members from Oz living in Kunming.

There is an International School where you may find a few Aussies but you'd need to make contact with them either via email or an international call. Google and you'll find their website.

There is also a website
www.gokunming.com

where you may have more luck in contacting expats living there.

All the best. Enjoy our stay. It's a nice place to visit in the coming months.

When will that be?

I reckon you will be able to get em at the gate, mate! This is not exactly a Man U v Liverpool clash, and it's not basketball, but perhapos there is more interest than I realise. Anyhow, I wish I could go.

Try this website for some information about where to get your tickets.

World Cup qualifying match. It should be well patronised by the locals

Soccer is popular here, second only to basket ball or table tennis?????

Behind both of those and other sports I think. The 'kids' don't follow it too much because they only want to follow winners and at the moment there national football team is truly world class....and the Chinese national league, well it's rather similar to the Australian football league.... 'pretty ordinary' is being polite.
