Im expat here in Shanghai planning to go to India ,New Delhi but i want to take train from Shanghai here to the nearest Chinese city to India and then by bus to New delhi,how can i manage????please help...

There are NO open borders at all between China and India, not for more than the better half of a century now. You need to go through Tibet Autonomous Region and Nepal, or Xinjiang Autonomous Region and Pakistan. If you're really adamant about not flying, I hope you also still have the time and money to take the train for Shanghai -- Urumqi -- Kashgar, then a bus from there to Sost, then continue by bus to New Delhi.
