Parag Khanna, the Director of the Global Governance Initiative and Senior Research Fellow in the American Strategy Program at the New America Foundation published his new book "The Second World: Empires and Influence in the New Global Order."

In his book,he said the big three—U.S., China and Europe—are all pursuing the second world". He defines "the Second World' as the countries "'around the world that are located between or on the peripheries of the three dominant empires: America, the European Union, and China. "

He says "the big three" are pursuing Central Asia with its huge oil and gas reserves and US is in a disadvantageous position as he is a distant player. Did you read this book? What do you think of it?

Haven't read the book, but will put it on my "to read" list.
Your post, Parag Khanna's comments, reminds me of a book (a novel, maybe prophetic) by George Orwell titled "1984"
