How many roads a man must take before we can call him a man?
Mar 28, 2008 04:19
guest2099 I like humming this song. The lyric is so proper and profound. It reflects the long process to shape ‘a boy’ into “a mature man”. How many roads? Is there a definite answer or an acknowledged answer? How many roads have you taken? If there is a road less travelled, will you take the path?

A great song. I am still traveling the road myself so will be able to tell you when I get to the end. But do not look back as it might give you regreats.

Ah yes....Takes me back to the good ol' days of Peter,Paul and Mary and Bob Dylan and Viet Nam(not so good memories). Thought the road would take me to the East coast but ended in Texas....Geez.

Age and experience does not make a man.

You cannot judge a man when sailing in calm seas and gentle winds; you judge a man by how he behaves in hard winds and heavy seas.

...and just because a man weathers one storm it does not mean that he will always be a man. A man must be prepared for difficult weather every day of his life. Only at the end of his days can he be judged a man.

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power. ~ Abraham Lincoln

Ultimately, the only power to which man should aspire is that which he exercises over himself. ~ Elie Wiesel

Not roads but walls.

Actually, according to my friend, Mao said that you are not a man until you’ve been to the Great Wall. Since I’ve been to the Great Wall, I am telling everyone I know that I am a man now. O_O

(((How many roads a man must take before we can call him a man?)))

Many times we develop an ego and call it manhood.

How many roads? I don't know. The roads I have taken are still too few. It reminds me of " Forest Gump"and "the lost generation".
