In June 2001, a misfortune befell an average family that has a couple of twin daughters: the elder is pseudonymed as Juan Juan( 娟娟)， the younger Tingting ( 亭亭)。 The younger one got a fever and was in a coma for over ten days. When she finally was awake, she got a sequela of meningitis with the symptom of intermittent lunacy. Over the six years, when she became lunatic, she often hit her family members, smashed household wares, and even stabbed her family members and neighbours. After she came to consciousness, she regretted about her behaviors. The whole family was disturbed by such a lunatic patient. In order to take care of Juan Juan, her mom had to quit her job. In June 2007, the elder sister had to drop out of school for the sake of looking after her twin sister. Her parents has spent about 100,000 RMB (an astronaumical number for a poor family) and even sold the apartment to cure Juan Juan’s sickness. The family was heavily in debt. All their efforts seem to be in vain. Their daughter’s ailment has no indication of improvement. On August 10, 2007, the father sent her daughter to a mental asylum for treatment but no one could accompany the mentally ill. The elder twin dropped out of school in Chengdu and came back home to look after her twin sister. At midnight of the August 22, she approached her younger sister’s bed and covered her sister’s head with a pillow. After she strangled her sister, Ting ting dialed the number “110” to deliver herself to the police. The police arrested her. Over the six years, his suffered daughter has been tormented by the illness and Juan Juan herself has ever demanded euthanasia, said the father. The elder daughter (Ting ting) has also wanted to commit herself because she loved her young sister very much. She didn’t want to see her sister suffer from the pain. After Ting Ting killed her twin sister, she said to the police that she wanted to release her young sister from the pangs. Perhaps not, since so many of us have destroyed so many unborn, defense less babies, Abortion!
