![]() | After watching Lust and Caution, more and more people are getting familiar with Tang Wei since she has become popular for her 'hot' performance in the movie. However, many people criticise her for earning her fame and fortune by exposing nudity to the public. On the other hand, she has set a bad example for other people. With her influence, more people intend to earn their fame in this way. According to the report, a college teacher released her seminude photo on the internet to make her popularity. Indeed, she has become popular because a large quantity of people are criticising her right now. It seems that exposing nudity to the public is the easiest and fastest way to be popular. No wonder so many people will try this. What do you think of this phenomenon? Will you do it to earn your fame and fortune? |

![]() | I have no problem with nudity in films if it is done tastefully, so I don't think Tang Wei was trying to increase her popularity by doing this. Others who expose themselves in public then I would agree that they trying to bring attention upon themselves to futher their careers and fortune. As for myself? I haven't got the body to earn my fame and fortune, having said that, people would probably pay me to cover up! he he Alan |

![]() | A movie without sex and violence won't sell in the western world; nudity is expected. In earlier days, Hollywood did not require nudity in every movie and was successful. When Liz Taylor stood up nude in the bathtub scene in Cleopatra, Pandora's box had been opened. |

![]() | A controversial comment about the value of a movie(s): The more nudity and unnecessary violence in a movie (in order for it to sell) then the less there is in providing a good story line or social information to the viewer. I think that is a better picture than the other, GRIZ. |

![]() | Alan, she has become popular for her nudity in Lust and Caution no matter she intended to or not. Even she didn't intend to, she had had great negative impact on other people. I guess that is the reason why she was banned by the State Administration of Radio, Film & TV. "A movie without sex and violence won't sell in the western world; nudity is expected." Agree! The director just take advantage of nudity and violence to attract more audience to make money and the audience are willing to pay for it. I know that US has clear film classification system. However, China doesn't have such a system. The Lost in Beijing and Lust and Caution has warned that China should make a system on the movies, not just banning some movies. This is useless. "The more nudity and unnecessary violence in a movie (in order for it to sell) then the less there is in providing a good story line or social information to the viewer." Gary, can't agree with you anymore. Those movies that have impressed us seldom contain much nude and unnecessary violence, for example, Schindler's List. To some extent, the popularity of the movies such as Lost in Beijing and Lust and Caution has suggested that we, the audience, have low taste on movies. |

![]() | There has been a lot of debate going on about influences of movies. Some parents with kids in tow would ask the minder at the movie house, ‘There’s no nudity in that, is there?’. Sure, there’s no nudity, just severed heads and limbs flying about. O_o I try to read reviews of a movie before I watch. And if there is nudity, no doubt it will be mentioned. Once I feel like I won’t like it, I won’t even waste time on it. Nudity is not even necessary but they add it because they know people will be scrambling to watch it and then criticize/complain about it giving it more press coverage. LOL! |

![]() | Anyway, both the audience and the directors and investors have got what they want. The director and the investors have made a lot of money from the movie as well as the audience have watched what they want to see. |
