GUEST55242	I just checked with one TESL recruiter -- I have an impressive CV for teaching ESL/EFL, but I got a quick email back asking me my age. I replied and didn't hear back from them afterward. I guess they prefer youth over experience. Also, I am trained to teach adults and I prefer to teach adults. Are there many private or government-run adult ESL/EFL shcools in the area? I have a solid education in phonetics and phonology -- I wonder if my skills would be of value to international business people. I'm not holding my breath, though -- I have good employment here in Canada. Anyway, I'm going to visit China for two weeks in October and just have a visit ... I will probably anchor in Fushun because I have a friend there -- She is ready to hang out and show me around. Does anybody have any suggestions for day trips and sight-seeing ... any must see / do ideas? A weekend in Beijing perhaps? dcb

GUEST92131	guest55242, You'll do better giving private one-on-one and small group lessons, than these schools, which prefer younger teachers. Your problems will be: 1. to find students, at least at the beginning. 2. visa/work issues.

GUEST59222	I have been living in Fushun also for over a year, its not that bad. The air does get bad but no where near the level of Beijing. Dust and high winds are the cause. The people are friendly, very few who speak English. Havent found a girlfriend but still looking. Nice city I wouldn't bash it, been in a lot worse in the USA.
