Many of us have objected to the originator of the thread in this forum:
LOOKING FOR NICE ENGLISH SPEAKING FEMALE... (and many others like this in the past)

but there is another thread....

SEEKING FEMALE TRAVEL COMPANION IN BEIJING, where people are travellers seeking a female but there is little complaint.

Are we deliberately accepting the second - or did we just miss it? I believe the second is fine but object to the first. Do others share this view? Is there a way we can easily make a distinction and make a suggestion to TCG? Or is this best left for members to comment on as we see fit, as we do now?? Ladies and gentlemen...your comments, please :)

The original post that started that thread was ages ago. In any case I cannot help but comment that this is the forum which attracts the most "sad", "lonely male looking for beautiful female" posts, out of the major China travel forums that I'm on!
This is a travel companion site, not a dating or prostitution site, males!
(And unfortunately why does it seem to be that most of the "lonely males" are Indian?)

It bothers me that we have more and more discussions about this subject.
Ellyse is right there seems to be a larger amount of Indian men.
Just a small thought and I will probably get loads of hate mail but it is usually people with very low points or a guest that posts these threads.

Also, another similar post that I replied to (via email) on TravellersPoint, the guy who replied was also looking for a companion in bed as well as travel! I was shocked and subsequently posted on the open forum (on the thread itself as a reply) warning other travellers about that person's real intentions but instead got a warning from a moderator not to slander other travellers. Needless to say I'm now no longer on TravellersPoint.

I really have never thought of this as a travel companion site, ELLYSE, but rather as travel site that offers insights into the Chinese culture as well as a cultural exchange between common citizens of many countries.

I've noticed the guys looking gals postings and even some posts for male prostitutes. Whenever I see a post I feel crosses the line, I send a private message to the moderators. If they agree, they take care of it.

I am not sure whether I should reply.... Did we misunderstand you? or No worries, it's nice that you apologised.

Anyway, I guess this particular situation can be considered closed.

I thought I was a somewhat sad, sometimes lonely, clueless traveler; searching the internet for a scent of Romance. But Hey, Ellyse !.... I am from that sordid hotbed of desperately seeking suitors known as the United States... not India ! I agree; this is not a match or escort site. Escort sites are immoral, at best. Match sites show a complete spectrum of values and legitimacy. I consider myself lucky, now. I correspond with a Gorgeous Lady from Liuzhou, who I met on an HK-based Chinese Matchmaking site. She speaks very little English. She recently mailed me a package containing a hand-made "love ball", two big bright red Chinese knots, and a hand-knit scarf. Does this mean that she is serious ? :) I personally think that most Chinese Ladies are sincere about their web search for contacts. I think the Indian guy, (and sad-sack Yanks) are not so much sleazy as they are misguided. We are all cultural ambassadors, online.
